I love Q&As with the author… except this time I’m the author!
Many people hear voices when there is no-one there. Some are called mad and are shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day. Others are called writers and they do pretty much the same thing.
Writing dialogue is tricky. You put in your book too little dialogue and characters won’t be developed properly; you put in it too much dialogue and you end up having unnecessary information. In both cases, the book turns out boring. Continue reading “[Inspiration] Writing dialogue”
A plot is also a narrative of events, the emphasis falling on causality. “The king died and then the queen died” is a story. “The king died, and then the queen died of grief” is a plot. The time-sequence is preserved, but the sense of causality overshadows it.
The difference between Plot and Story is at the basics of writing, but it’s not always so easy to outline.
The simplest definition that I came up with for myself is that the Story is what I want to tell, and the Plot is how the things I want to tell happen. Continue reading “[My WIP] Oulining Plot & Story”
“I’m positive I’ll be back with new content in November,” I said in October… and here I am now (I know, I’m a bad person).
October has been a tough month, but for good or for worse, it’s almost over!
I didn’t publish as many posts as I had planned (I’m positive I’ll be back with new content in November), but I was able to design better the website, making it a little more “professional”.
So many secrets, mystery, and danger. There are lies, cover ups and much more in this read. Not only that but there is surprises that you may not have seen coming. This book is a great read and I would definitely recommend it if you are not opposed to the warnings. Elen Chase did an incredible job on this book.
Maybe I’m being too enthusiastical about “just” one review, but as a self-published author who knows nothing about marketing, I’m really struggling to let people know that my work is out there. Knowing that someone liked my work so much boosts my confidence and gives me hope for my future as an author.
